Dr. Daniel Lesser is the clinical director of the Respiratory Medicine Division at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and a professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego.
After graduating from Brown University, Dr. Lesser went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Upon finishing his residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, he remained there to complete his fellowship in pediatric pulmonology.
Dr. Lesser's clinical focus is children with sleep-disordered breathing and sleep apnea, respiratory manifestations of neuromuscular diseases such as muscular dystrophy, disorders of ventilatory control, and technology-dependent/medically fragile children. In working with families, he aims to create a care plan that will help every child maximize and exceed his or her unique potential.
Dr. Lesser is active in teaching and serves as the director of the Rady Children's Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship program. A cross-country and track runner at Brown, Dr. Lesser remains a competitive distance runner.
