Dr. Peter Chau is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Chau earned his bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in psychology from UC San Diego and received his medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed his general pediatric residency training at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. Dr. Chau went on to complete his pediatric cardiology fellowship training at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan. He then completed an additional year of fellowship training at the University of Michigan with a focus on pediatric advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and pulmonary hypertension.
Dr. Chau's clinical and research interests include pediatric cardiomyopathy, advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support (including ventricular assist devices), and heart transplantation.
