Anthony Magit, M.D., M.P.H.

Bio

Dr. Anthony Magit is a associate chief medical officer and a pediatric otolaryngologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. He is also a clinical professor of otolaryngology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and director of UC San Diego's Human Research Protections program.

Dr. Magit's previous positions at Rady Children's include chief of the Otolaryngology division and Hospital chief of staff. Currently, he is the chair of the Physician Well Being Committee and a Telemedicine Physician Champion.

His clinical interests include cystic-fibrosis related sinusitis and lymphatic malformations. These are also his research interests, along with research ethics and the development of clinical guidelines.

A graduate of Stanford University and the UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Magit completed his internship and residency at Duke University, followed by a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He also earned a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Magit received the 2016 Sylvan Stool Award for outstanding teaching and mentorship from SENTAC (Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Advances in Children). Additionally, he has been named among San Diego Magazine's "Top Doctors" for more than 10 years and one of the "Best Doctors in America."

Among his professional activities, Dr. Magit serves on the boards of the San Diego County Medical Society and statewide California Specialty Care Coalition. When not practicing medicine, he enjoys hiking, contemporary music and spending time with his family.
