Fluid (CSF, Body (Peritoneal/Ascites, Pericardial, Pleural/Thoracentesis; Ocular): 0.3-0.5mL collected in a sterile container. Respiratory (Bronchial washing, Bronchoalveolar lavage, Nasopharyngeal aspirate/washing, Sputum, Tracheal aspirate): 1-1.5 mL collected in a sterile container. Swab (Eye and Upper Respiratory-Nasal/Throat): Culturette (BBL Culture Swab). Bone marrow: 0.5 mL collected in an EDTA (lavender-top) tube. Fresh Tissue (Brain, Colon, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Cornea, etc.): in a sterile container with 1-2 mL of sterile saline or multi-microbe medium (M5).
