sUCCINYLPURINE PRODUCTS (succinylAICAriboside and succinylasdenosine) are elevated in the body fluids of patients with deficiency of adenylosuccinate lyase, a disorder which can present with mental retardation, seizures and autistic features. The screen is subject to both false positive and false negative.
