Rady Children’s Named Among Nation’s Ten Best Children’s Hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s Annual Survey

Hospital Achieves Honor Roll Designation for Second Consecutive Year

San Diego, Calif. – Oct. 8, 2024 — For the second year in a row, Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego has been named by U.S. News & World Report to its Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only 10 children’s hospitals nationwide. Rady Children’s has also been named by U.S. News as tied for the No. 1 pediatric hospital in California and the Pacific Region.

Rady Children’s had five specialties rank among the top 10 in the nation (Cardiology & Heart Surgery #3; Orthopedics #5; Neurology & Neurosurgery #8; Diabetes & Endocrinology #9 and Urology #10) and maintained its eight-year streak of achieving rankings in all specialties surveyed. U.S. News added a new category for 2024-2025 – Pediatric & Adolescent Behavioral Health – in which Rady Children’s was ranked among the top 50 programs in the country.

The rankings assist parents and caregivers, along with their physicians, in navigating the challenges of choosing the best possible care for children with serious illnesses or complex medical needs.

U.S. News, together with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research and consulting firm, collected and analyzed data from 108 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children’s hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care and expert opinion among pediatric specialists
