Parag Sanghvi, M.D., M.S.P.H

Bio

Dr. Parag Sanghvi is a board certified radiation oncologist who specializes in the treatment and management of skin cancers, head cancers, neck cancers, leukemias, lymphomas and brain tumors.

He serves as the department service chief for hematologic malignancies and is the disease team co-leader at Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health. Since joining UC San Diego Health in 2011, he has helped build one of the largest radiation oncology programs for lymphoma in the country.

Dr. Sanghvi has repeatedly been named a top doctor in San Diego Magazine's "Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" annual survey, performed in collaboration with the San Diego County Medical Society.

A nationally recognized expert in skin cancer, leukemia and lymphoma, he frequently gives invited talks and chairs conferences on treating these cancers with therapeutic radiation. He also serves on several national radiation oncology committees and is an examiner for the American Board of Radiology.

His research focuses on developing techniques to reduce long-term side effects of brachytherapy and external beam radiotherapy.

Dr. Sanghvi completed residency training at Oregon Health Sciences University and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He holds a master's degree in public health from Emory University with an with an emphasis on epidemiology and international health.

Prior to becoming a physician, he was awarded the O.C. Hubert International Health Fellowship and worked in Bombay, India on HIV testing and counseling.
