Definition: Polyuria
Polyuria
A person with polyuria makes large amounts of urine. In uncontrolled diabetes, polyuria occurs because of high blood sugar levels. The kidneys remove some of this excess sugar from the body. To do this, the kidneys produce abnormally large amounts of urine.
