The Clinic for Patients with Limb Differences and Amputations at Rady Children’s Hospital is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of children and adults with congenital or acquired limb differences through a comprehensive support program. Our multidisciplinary team includes experts in physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and nursing who are all trained to provide the special care required by a child with a limb difference.
We are committed to helping your child reach his or her optimal physical and mental function.
Working together as a team. With you, your child, your therapist, and your pediatrician, the Clinic staff can minimize trips to the hospital and maximize rehabilitation gains for your child. A comprehensive support program and a consistent rehab plan achieve outcomes that permit children with amputations to lead very normal and exciting lives. This is true whether the amputation is congenital or acquired through trauma, vascular injury, tumors, infections, or other medical problems.
